I Am, I Am, I Am.

Cold chillin' cold chillin'.

I'm Jeremy. Student filmmaker and barista extraordinaire from Nova Scotia. http://jeremywaterman.ca. I like hip things and I make bad music. I like vinyl. And coffee. And tea. But the strong stuff. Leave the bag in. I also run the street team for my friends in Showbread.

I'm terribly uninteresting. Hope you hate me.

Ask me things. I like it.

Hey! Here’s my contribution to the Christmas album. It’s a sad-bastard song called “What the Hell; It’s Christmastime" and I worked real hard on it!

As always, you can download the whole album for free at http://music.rawrockmilitia.com/, you can donate if you like, and I will also have copies of the album on CD in about a week. Thanks, and please share!

A Raw Rock Christmas IV: Christmas Business!
Tomorrow is the last day to send in your music to this year’s A Raw Rock Christmas album. If you’ve been finishing up your song, now’s the time to get it in. I’ll send a free CD to every artist or band that appears on the album. Yeah!
Thanks again to everybody who’s already submitted or shown interest in this, it means the world and I love you. To send in your song or just to say hello, send me an email at jeremy@rawrockmilitia.com. Thanks everyone!

This year’s Christmas album has officially been named, so new we need some album artwork! Artists/graphic designers/photographers/etc, please consider helping out. You’re important to us! The artist of the winning album art will receive a free copy of the album on limited cd, as well as some other goodies.

As a refresher, here’s the criteria for submissions:

What we need!
Interested? We need some real cool Christmassy artwork, and of course, a ton of songs. All musicians are welcome!

  • Artists/graphic designers/photographers/painters/etc. You are important to us! We’ve looking for you to design something Christmassy or winterry for our artwork, including this year’s title - Christmas Business. 1000x1000px preferred. This will be voted on by the community. Please email all submissions to me, do not post them online (as the voting process is supposed to be anonymous).
  • The winner will also be asked to help with creating liner notes for the album, as well as helping with the cd packaging and layout. This is not essential, you are not committing to this by submitting artwork. Christmas is a busy time and this is certainly a lot to ask, but any willingness here is much appreciated!
  • Musicians/bands/singers/poets/etc of all genres! Without you, there will be no album. Most of the album usually ends up being indie/folk kind of stuff, but over the past three albums, we’ve had some cool submissions: punk rock, electronic, poetry, anger music, etc.
  • Some of you may want to do more than one song, or may have multiple bands/projects you’re in. This is totally cool. We don’t want there to be too much by the same person, but I’ll do my best. How I decide all this is usually determined by the total overall submissions. If you can’t decide what to submit, send me everything you’re considering, we can discuss and try to pick together.

Full infos can be seen here.

As always, you can email me anything (submissions, questions, cute hellos) to jeremy@rawrockmilitia.com. Thanks for always making A Raw Rock Christmas a success, and here’s to a new one.

PS. Please spread the word and use the hashtag #christmasbusiness because it’s hilarious.

Can finally share what I’ve been helping to work on the past few months. Coming soon. ;)

Mike Mains & The Branches,
Calm Down, Everything Is Fine

Some cool dudes in a band called Mike Mains & The Branches are releasing a new album soon (titled “Calm Down, Everything Is Fine”), and they’re using a platform called PledgeMusic to get it done. Here’s a link to the project - I just pledged and am beyond excited to help these guys out. This is the first song from the new album.
Drew Porter (formerly of Showbread) is drumming for them right now on tour, and my friend Hannah is doing merch and photography.

Not only that, but their first album, “Home”, is available totally free here at Noisetrade. It’s really dang cool, check it out and fall in love.

Just got the craziest email from Josh. Good pick me up after the night I’ve been having. I’m excited.

My friends in Showbread are getting ready to release the movie that goes along with their album, Cancer! Check out this brilliant trailer, then go download their album for free at http://showbread.net
